Legacy Movement

John Wooden passed away earlier today at the age of 99. He was one of the best college basketball coaches in history. Not only did he produce champions on the court, he made his players great character people off the court. Wooden leaves a legacy of success as a basketball coach and as a man who shaped the lives of many great individuals.

Here’s a quote that I feel defined how he lived his life:
Material possessions, winning scores, and great reputations are meaningless in the eyes of the Lord, because He knows what we really are and that is all that matters. – John Wooden

Some of you might be wondering – “what happend to your acts of love posts?” The answer: I’m horrible at blogging. Incase you’re wondering, I was able to complete all the days of love – and it was amazing to see the smiles on people’s faces. But I have to confess, that I either did not have the time to blog or was just lazy to blog about it. Hopefully you guys can forgive me. An update on Legacy Movement in the next months to come. Keep watch.

This guy had help from his former teammates, but he said what really helped him out of substance abuse was God. Instead of constantly being stoned, Carbo now goes around speaking about Jesus, baseball, and the dangers of substance abuse. It’s amazing to see how God can change the hearts of all people, especially the ones “good” people see as sinners who will never change.
